The President of the Downtown Danville Incorporated Board of Directors says that group intends to go forward as a completely voluntary organization. Rob Black attended last evening’s meeting of the Danville City Council Public Services Committee to inform the committee of DDI’s decision.
‘’It seems like the director position exists to earn enough money to pay a director,’’ said Black as he announced the DDI Board had decided to cut the director’s position. Jordan Cundiff previously held the position. Although the director position has been cut, Black said the DDI Board will continue to exist.
Downtown Danville Incorporated is still repaying its part of an earlier agreement to hire a consultant for the downtown Tax Increment Financing District. During its meeting last evening the Public Services Committee recommended the full City Council approve a revised plan for repaying those monies.
