Veterans who packed a Vietnam War Veterans Day ceremony in Danville today (Thursday) were thanked for their service to our country. And keynote speaker, Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer, noted there were over 9 million American men and women who volunteered to serve…
Tom Barrett, (shown here) a member of the Marine Corp League Honor Guard from Danville, appreciates the ceremony – but he added he really doesn’t think it is necessary…
Barrett, who is from Potomac, had two brothers who served in the Army and two in the Navy.
Although Barrett feels National Vietnam War Veterans Day may be over-doing it, Mayor Eisenhauer noted that saying ”thanks” means a lot….
Those who attended the ceremony at the VA Illiana Health Care System received commemorate Vietnam War lapel pins as part of the thank-you for serving.
