The Danville City Council’s Public Works Committee has approved the Annual Action Plan for the use of approximately $865-thousand dollars in federal Community Development Block Grant funds. Among the expenditures is more money to demolish vacant and sub-standard homes in Danville. But Alderman Lloyd Randle says the city needs to develop partnerships to build new housing. The Community Development Block Grant Plan focuses on housing needs for low and moderate income families, housing for those with special needs, blight removal and economic development opportunities.
