Danville District 118 School officials are reminding parents they would like to see all students participate in summer school this year.
Superintendent Alicia Geddis says the district is reallocating some Title One Funds…so summer school will be free to all students.
Dr. Geddis adds there will not only be academic courses, but also some fun classes such as golf, swimming, hiking and cooking….
The classes will be offered on three levels….
District 118 Summer School runs from June 11th through July 20th – with a break for Independence Day on July 4th.
District 118 will be partnering with the Danville Art League, YMCA and others for some of the programs that will be offered. Information about the programs will be mailed to parents.
The summer school classes will be held at the Kenneth D. Bailey Academy, Danville High School, South View Upper Elementary School, North Ridge Middle School, and Mark Denman Elementary School. And Pre-Kindergarten and Special Education classes will be held at Southwest Elementary School.
