Police in Danville say it is not a huge problem, but they are getting more reports of juveniles sharing pornographic photos of one another. Police Commander Joshua Webb says the problem is the photos are being sent by kids using Snapchat. So unless someone captures the photos, they disappear says Webb. And he says that makes it difficult to do an investigation.
‘’It’s the parents who are getting upset about it and reporting it,’’ says Webb. ‘’But when we try to investigate it – the kids are not willing to talk’’, he added.
Snapchat is a multi-media messaging app which is used by over 180 million people around the world, according to its website. The site warns users to ‘’be mindful of what you Snap.’’ It warns Snapchatters can always capture or save your messages – such as by taking a screenshot or using a camera.
