A Danville philanthropist who has donated millions of dollars to various causes around Vermilion County is being thanked with a concert in his honor on Thursday.
Danville Area Community College is hosting the concert to honor Julius W. Hegeler II. It is free and open to the public starting at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19th, in the DACC Bremer Theatre.
An Evening of Schubert Songs will feature Dr. Eric Simonson on the piano and soprano Kelly Holden of Danville. Simonson is a music professor at DACC.
The concert is specifically to pay tribute to Hegeler for his support of Danville Area Community College and his latest gift, the Carnegie Library – Dr. Alice Marie Jacobs Hall for the visual and performing arts.
