Students who are graduating from a Wind Technician Program at Danville Area Community College are finding there are jobs waiting for them.
Greg Hansbraugh heads the Wind Tech Program at DACC and notes that the U.S. Department of Labor said last year that wind-tech is the fasted-growing field in the country….
During DACC’s program on WDAN Radio, Hansbraugh noted there are 134 wind turbines right in our backyard….
And Hansbraugh says those who may be afraid of heights can still get in the program…
Students who graduate from the Wind Energy Program at Danville Area Community College have an Associate Degree in Wind Tech. With those skills Hansbraugh says the average starting salary is $18 to $22.
After a few years, he adds those technicians are usually making $65,000 to $75,000 annually.
