A press conference was held Wednesday afternoon at Kennekuk announcing a new plan to finish the Education Center at Kennekuk Park.
Vermilion County Board Chairman Mike Marron joined County Conservation District Board President Johnathan Myers and representatives of the East Central Illinois Building Council in announcing a collaborative plan which would add additional classroom space and a conference center.
Marron says it wasn’t tough to bring that group together…
He hopes they can use this effort as a template for future projects…
They hope to have the numbers for the economic needs of the project nailed down in the fall.
Over the summer, they will be working on adding internet and cell phone availability.
