The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is allocating $143.3 million dollars for needed capital improvements in Illinois Public Housing.
Some of the money will be coming to our area. The Housing Authority of the City of Danville is being allocated nearly $1-million, 141-thousand dollars. And the Housing Authority of Vermilion County is getting more than $355-thousand dollars.
The Housing Authority of the City of Terre Haute, Indiana has been allocated $1.7 million dollars. In Champaign County, the Housing Authority will receive just over $448-thousand dollars. The Housing Authority of Edgar County has been awarded nearly $365-thousand dollars. And the Housing Authority of Ford County will get nearly $124-thousand dollars.
The grants are provided through HUD’s Capital Fund Program which offers annual funding to build, repair, renovate and/or modernize public housing facilities.
