The Danville City Council’s Public Services Committee is recommending permanent changes for the city’s curfew ordinance.
Public Safety Director Larry Thomason outlines the proposed changes…
There are exceptions. A juvenile accompanied by a parent or legal guardian could stay out beyond those hours. And teens under the legal limit could also be out after curfew if they are headed directly home after getting off work, or following a school, religious or sporting event, movie or play.
Director Thomason says the temporary changes made in the curfew over summer hours have worked well….
Danville Alderman Reverend R. J. Davis supports the proposed change….
The changes will be considered by the full city council when it meets in two weeks.
