Federal funds arriving in Vermilion County have been helping train workers for some local manufacturers like Watchfire Signs and Trigard. Danville Area Community College President Stephen Nacco says the funding includes a $250-thousand dollar WERC grant via the Illinois Talent Pipeline and a recently awarded $360-thousand dollar federal Industrial Career Pathways grant….
The WERC grant funds a pilot program for DACC to provide customized training for up to 360 incumbent workers in 20 local manufacturing companies. It is a partnership involving DACC’s Corporate Training Division, Vermilion County Works, Vermilion Advantage, and the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center.
