The calendar says it’s summer…but summer vacations are over for some students and teachers in Danville. The new school year begins today, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Northeast Elementary Magnet School which operates on a balanced calendar. The students and staff get a shorter summer break, but they get some other breaks throughout the year which other schools do not.
The new school year begins August 15th for Danville District 118 schools operating on the traditional calendar.
And as classes begin at Northeast, motorists are being reminded to obey school zone speed limits and to make sure they stop for school busses that might be loading or unloading children.
