Danville Area Community College Trustee Tonya Hill resigned from the College Board of Trustees. The resignation is effective as of Fri., Aug. 10, 2018.
Hill was elected in 2015 to a six-year term, which runs through 2021. During the Aug. 23 meeting, the DACC Board of Trustees will discuss the process for replacing Hill on the seven-member Board. By State Law, the Board has 60 days from the resignation date to replace a Board Member.
The Board’s appointee will fill the role until the April 2019 election, when voters will select someone to serve in the final two years of Hill’s term. Along with this vacancy, two other places on the DACC Board will be contested, with each of these carrying a six-year term.
Hill is a Catlin resident, a DACC graduate, and one of the College’s Distinguished Alumni. Her decision to leave the Board has come after she was named a finalist for the position of Executive Director of the DACC Foundation.
