The proposal to change Danville’s form of government took center stage during discussion at last night’s Danville City Council meeting.
Doug Ahrens, one of the leaders of the group Moving Danville Forward raised some questions during the public comment period…
Ahrens previously served as Danville’s Public Works Director.
Former alderman Jerry Askren (shown here) also addressed the council….
Long-time alderman Rickey Williams Junior had a suggestion for Ahrens and Askren…
A proposal for a more than $30-thousand dollar agreement for engineering services to study lighting and a sound system for downtown Danville was pulled from the agenda before the meeting. Askren suggested those funds be added to others in order to look at hiring a new Danville police chief. ‘’I would hope you would consider a better location for those dollars,’’ added Askren.
