Police in Westville are investigating some damage at Zamberletti Park. Darin Troglia, the park chairman on the Village Council, says someone stole a water fountain, damaging pipes in the process.
Troglia says thousands of dollars have been spent lately for improvements at the park, and it is disheartening that someone would damage it.
Troglia and Westville Police Chief David Booe says there are security cameras in portions of the park and the video is being reviewed. Meanwhile they ask that parents talk to their children to see whether they might be able to help supply information to help solve the case.
Troglia says if juveniles are found to be responsible for the damage, their parents will be held accountable. He also says anyone who is caught and convicted of inflicting damage at the park will be banned from using the park in the future.
