You may notice more people wearing denim to work or school today (Friday, October 5, 2018). OSF HealthCare is hosting ‘It’s All in the Jeans Day’. This marks the 21st year the event has been held to help raise funds to support cancer prevention, detection and treatment programs locally.
Financial assistance for preventative breast cancer exams and medical equipment for local cancer patients are among the services supported by the fund drive. The funds also help enhance services at the Bobette Steeley Hegeler Cancer Center at OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center.
For a $5 donation today’s program allows participants to wear denim. And through a special business match program, each $5 donation has the potential of being tripled. If a business matches their employees’ contribution, special business sponsors will ‘match the match’, essentially tripling the original $5 donation.
Since 1997, ‘It’s All in the Jeans Day’ has raised almost $600,000 in the local fight against breast cancer. For more information on how your organization can help, call the OSF Foundation at (217) 442-6803.
