The Vermilion County Clerk’s Office will be adding some extra steps for additional security in counting votes next month. Lindsey Light, Supervisor of Elections for County Clerk Cathy Jenkins office, says with all of the talk about cyber security, the County Clerk’s office will be adding an extra process prior to uploading the ballots to be counted.
‘’We want to ensure the accuracy of the results that are posted on Election Night,’’ Light told VermilionCountyFirst.com News.
Meanwhile Light says over 650 people had voted in-person at the County Clerk’s Office, as of today (Wednesday), in advance of the November 6th Election. And over 700 ballots have been mailed out.
Sandy Delhaye, Executive Director of the Danville Board of Election Commission, says that office has mailed out over 800 ballots, and nearly 600 people have voted in-person…so far.
Early voting continues through Monday, November 5th. Voters will also be able to register and vote on Election Day, but election officials encourage citizens to vote early.
