Some area Veterans are among those listed on a new ‘Bicentennial HONOR 200’ roll. The list was announced by the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs and the Illinois Bicentennial Office.
Those being honored from our area include Julius W. Hegeler II of Danville, Charlie Dukes of Georgetown, Bruce David Voges of St. Joseph, Barry Baron of Bourbonnais, and Bradley P. Gould of Rantoul.
‘’Their service didn’t stop when they took off their uniforms,’’ said Governor Bruce Rauner. ‘’They continue to be heroes among us by going above and beyond the call of duty to take care of the people in their communities.’’
All 200 listed on the new honor roll have been invited to the state’s official 200th birthday celebration at the United Center in Chicago on December 3, 2018.
