The Danville Area Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a request next month to rezone some property along North Vermilion Street for retail development. James F Wood, doing business as J & D Properties, is requesting that property at 3574 to 3580 North Vermilion Street be rezoned from R1 residential to B2 highway business.
The zoning change would allow for the construction of a retail strip center on the southwest corner of Vermilion and Thornhill Drive.
Wood says he is currently working with a client who is interested in placing a business there, but since nothing is signed yet he would not identify the business.
Wood also noted since the site is small…the one business might be the only one locating there.
The Danville Area Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 1st in the Community Room of the Robert E. Jones Municipal Building at 17 West Main Street.
