The Vermilion County Board has approved a new budget and tax levy for the fiscal year which begins December 1st (2018). Board Chairman Larry Baughn says the good news is that the county’s portion of real estate tax bills is not expected to rise next year….
Also last night three vacancies were filled on the Vermilion County Board. Diane Frazer replaces former board member Frank Hoskins in District 9. Natalie Duncan was seated to fill the unexpired term of former board vice-chairman Todd Johnson. And Dan Wright will fill the vacancy that occurred when former board chairman Mike Marron was appointed as the new State Representative from Illinois’ 104th District. Duncan and Daniel Wright are merely starting their terms a little early after being elected to the seats in last week’s election.
The County Board also paused last night to reflect on the loss of board member John Criswell who died last week. He had served on the County Board for eight years.
