A new Love’s Travel Stop has opened along Interstate 74 at Oakwood, bringing 70 new jobs with it. The new business opened Thursday along the Newtown Road at the 206 mile marker along the interstate.
‘’Oakwood is a popular stop for professional drivers and motorists along I-74 in eastern Illinois,’’ said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love’s. ‘’Our customers have been asking for more locations in the Prairie State,’’ he added, ‘’and we’re happy to provide them with another clean and friendly travel stop.’’
Village leaders in Oakwood are excited about it! ‘’The Oakwood Board of Trustees and I are pleased to welcome Love’s to our community,’’ said Clay Woodard, the Oakwood Village President. ‘’Love’s is a reputable corporation in whom we are pleased to partner with. They have invested greatly in our community and have provided multiple jobs to those in Oakwood and the Vermilion County area,’’ added Woodard. ‘’We look forward to a longstanding relationship with Love’s for many years to come.’’
The new Love’s includes a Hardee’s restaurant, Speedco location on-site, 67 truck parking spaces, seven diesel bays, plus shower, laundry and other facilities. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
