Danville Police and the Vermilion County Coroner’s Office are investigating a Saturday morning shooting that has left a man dead. Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden says the victim is 32-year-old William L. Banks of Danville. Public Safety Director Larry Thomason told VermilionCountyFirst.com News that police were called to the 1600 block of Edgewood shortly after 5:00 a.m. (January 12, 2019).
‘’Callers indicated that there was some sort of disturbance in the area and when an officer arrived at one of the apartments found the male victim,’’ said Thomason. ‘’Preliminary investigation indicates the 32-year-old man was the victim of gunshot wounds,’’ added Thomason.
Police have developed a person of interest in the case, but other information about that person is not being released at this time.
Police are releasing no other information about the death at this time.
