Danville City Council members are continuing to review ways to raise new revenue. Mayor Rickey Williams Jr. is still proposing a $50 business license fee. Alderman Jon Cooper asked Williams to explain why he is proposing the fee….
Williams (shown in photo) says businesses which already pay a fee to the City – and not- for-profit locations – would not be required to pay the new fee.
City Council members also discussed the Mayor’s proposal during their meeting last night for a $300 fee for large solid waste set-outs….
Aldermen are also reviewing whether to raise license fees for everything from amusement devices, bowling alleys and liquor licenses to tobacco dealers, video gaming licenses and childcare facilities.
