Danville’s Habitat for Humanity ‘Restore Store’ is preparing to open at its new location. It is moving from its Walnut Street location to 422 North Vermilion and is scheduled to open on Wednesday, April 3rd.
Store Assistant Manager Lori Razmus says it would be impossible to run the store without a group of ‘’dedicated volunteers.’’ She says there are just three employees who work with nearly forty volunteers. Volunteers were in the store Wednesday getting it ready for next week’s opening.

Citizens donate items to the ReStore – and when those items are sold, Razmus says the funds help Habitat for Humanity build new homes in our area. Items in the store range from used furniture, tools and books to Easter decorations.
Razmus adds the volunteers include some with disabilities, along with students, retired citizens and some who come through the Peer Court program. ‘’They are all dedicated, hard workers,’’ adds Razmus, who serves as the Volunteer Coordinator. She says some volunteer once a week, but others come two or three days a week to help out.
Volunteers also played a huge role in getting the building ready for next week’s opening.
