There will be no change in the Danville Mayor’s office. Final, unofficial votes Tuesday night showed Rickey Williams Jr. as the winner in the four-way race for mayor. He collected 2,153 votes to James McMahon’s 1,080. Alderman Steve Nichols finished third with 857 votes, and Donald Crews had 396.
There will be two new aldermen on the Danville City Council. Bob Iverson defeated incumbent Lloyd Randle for Alderman in Ward 7….and Jon Cooper was narrowly defeated for Ward 6 Alderman by Aaron Troglia. Final, unofficial figures show Bob Iverson had 696 votes to Lloyd Randle’s 575. And Troglia defeated Cooper 416 to 408.
In Ward 1, Vice Mayor Brenda Brown defeated challenger Trina Perkins as Brown garnered nearly 73-percent of the vote. In other Danville wards….Rick Strebing retained his seat in Ward 2 defeating Jerry Hawker. Strebing had 51-percent of the vote.
In Ward 3, Sharon ‘’Sherry’’ Pickering retained her seat by defeating Damara Joyner. Pickering had more than 54-percent of the vote.
In Ward 4 and 5 incumbents were running unopposed. Michael O’Kane will continue on the Danville City Council in Ward 4 and Thomas Stone will continue to represent Ward 5.
Stefanie Wilson will also continue to serve as the Danville City Treasurer. She was running with no opposition.
