Danville will get to continue hosting the NJCAA Division II Men’s National Basketball Tournament at least through 2023. The NJCAA Board of Directors, meeting in Richmond, Virginia, has agreed to extend the contract for the tournament in Danville for three more years. Jeanie Cooke, Executive Director of the Danville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, says Danville had already been approved to host the games again next year. Cooke, Tournament Chairman Brian Hensgen, and Mike Hulvey, a member of the local tournament board of directors, all traveled to Richmond where they presented their case on why the tournament should remain in Danville. Cooke says the 16 team National Tournament means a lot to the community….
And Cooke says the local committee that works on the tournament each year would like to get a long-term agreement….
