The Danville Public School Foundation is hosting ‘An Evening of Singing and Dancing’ Friday evening (April 5, 2019). But there will be more than singing and dancing. Four local educators will be receiving the 2019 David L. Fields Outstanding Teacher Awards during the program at Danville High School.
Those receiving the awards are:
- Maurita Keyser, a Pre-K teacher at Southwest School
- Rae Williams, a second-grade teacher at Garfield School
- Taryn Owens, a math instructor at North Ridge Middle School
- Ryan Krapf, Band Director at Danville High School
The winners are selected based on their superior effectiveness in student success, collaboration, continuous learning and leadership.
Former Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the program which begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium. Those attending will be treated to performances by the show choirs from Danville High School, South View Upper Elementary School and North Ridge Middle School. The program is a fund-raiser for the Danville Public School Foundation. Tickets are $5 each and will be available at the door.
Classic Homes Realty and Education Personnel Credit Union are the title sponsors, along with business partners – including The Commercial News, Neuhoff Broadcasting, McDonald’s of Vermilion County and Kohl’s.
