OSF HealthCare Sacred Heart Medical Center has launched a new Addiction Treatment Services program in Danville. OSF is partnering with Evergreen Health Partners to offer the ‘StepOne Service’. It is a hospital-based service available for adults struggling with addiction and withdrawal symptoms.
‘’We anticipate that they’ll only be with us 3-5 days to get them through those early withdrawal symptoms,’’ says Jennifer Compton, Vice President of Ancillary Services and Hospital Administration. ‘’This is elective, not directive,’’ added Compton. ‘’So they are not told they have to go through this or go to jail.’’ Instead, she says people are calling and saying they want to make a change in their life.

Compton notes that while the program starts with an inpatient stay, participants will get the support they need throughout their journey, including an individual discharge plan to help the patient stay on a path to success.
