Aqua Illinois Water Company will be hosting its 17th annual Lake Vermilion Clean-Up Day on Friday, May 24, 2019. Volunteers are being invited to help with the clean-up which runs from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Volunteers should arrive by 8:00 a.m. at Lake Vermilion County Park (at 2607 Denmark Road, Danville). The clean-up will concentrate on two areas – debris in the lake and debris along the shoreline.
Residents living around Lake Vermilion who would like debris to be removed from their shoreline should have it boxed, bagged, or neatly piled and make sure the items are plainly visible for removal.
Volunteers will be provided gloves, but should wear appropriate clothing and be prepared for inclement weather. Donuts and refreshments will be provided before work begins, and lunch will be served when the work is completed.
