The Lincoln Park Theater Company has announced it is cancelling its planned show in Danville this summer because of concern over crime. ‘’We are sorry to announce that due to the rise in crime in the Lincoln Park area, we will not be doing a show this year,’’ says a post that was placed on the group’s Facebook page last night.
Earlier the Lincoln Park Theater Company had announced plans to perform ‘Seussical’ as its 2019 summer production. The show had been scheduled for August 8th through 11th at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.
The announcement made Thursday night (May 30th) said the Lincoln Park Theater Company will ‘’reevaluate the situation next year and will hopefully be able to return to our beloved home at Lincoln Park.’’ The group added it wants to thank everyone for their understanding and support. A fall fundraiser is being planned at a different location.
