State Senator Scott Bennett says he expects both Danville and Terre Haute to end up getting casinos….
The Senator and State Representative Mike Marron (on left in photo) were guests on WDAN Radio’s Newsmakers program today (Tuesday, June 4, 2019).
Senator Bennett noted first Terre Haute voters would have to approve the casino that is proposed for their city. But he expects it will pass.
State Representative Mike Marron thinks having a casino here will help make Danville a tourist destination….
Originally there was a Springfield casino in the bill that was eventually approved by lawmakers, but Senator Bennett says Peoria was successful in getting it removed. He says supporters of the Peoria casino also tried to get Danville removed from the bill…
In the end Danville remained among the six new casinos planned in Illinois.
