This weekend’s Arts in the Park and Vermilion County Fair are officially kicking-off the fun this summer. But there is much more to come, according to Jeanie Cooke, Director of the Danville Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Arts in the Park at Danville’s Lincoln Park on Saturday and Sunday (June 22nd and 23rd) features various local groups performing on the main stage. Those groups range from the Sweet Adelines of Danville and 144th Army Band Brass Quartet to the Red Mask Children’s Theatre and Danville Municipal Band. There is also an Art on Wheels Car Show on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., an Art Show by the Danville Art League and sidewalk chalk contest…among other activities. The events are expected to attract some visitors to Danville from a wide area.
More information on Arts in the Park can be found at http://www.aitpdanville.org.
Then Cooke says one exciting event coming next month is power boat races which will be sponsored next month by the local Gao Grotto….
Also returning during July is Balloons Over Vermilion….
Balloons Over Vermilion is July 12th and 13th at the Vermilion Regional Airport. The American Power Boat Association Races start July 19th on Lake Vermilion.
