An investigation is underway into what caused a Westville house fire. The blaze last evening (July 8, 2019) at 148 Bridgett Street left extensive damage, but Westville Fire Captain Doug Oakes says the fire damage was contained to two bedrooms.
Oakes says there was a lot of smoke coming from the home when firefighters arrived. He says no one was home, and there were no injuries. But two dogs died in the blaze.
Firefighters from the Lynch, Georgetown and Catlin Fire Departments assisted at the scene along with a Georgetown Ambulance. Oakes added investigators were being called to try to determine what caused the blaze.
