The Second Annual Pumpkin Festival is coming to Downtown Danville on Saturday, October 5th. And again this year the event will feature the popular Pumpkin Derby Race and Witches Ride for Recovery, along with children’s games, food and craft vendors and entertainment at Temple Plaza. Hours for the event are from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The Festival is sponsored by Soul Garden Recovery Center along with Downtown Danville, Inc. and Danville Township.
The Witches ride involves bicycle riders who will leave Lincoln Park at 11:30 Saturday morning, October 5th, for their ride to Downtown Danville. Riders wear costumes and decorate their bikes.
Kits are available for $15 each to assemble a vehicle for the Pumpkin Derby Race. You can call (217) 474-7529 to see about purchasing a kit. There will also be a pumpkin carving as part of the Festival. And the ‘Wizard of Oz’ will be shown at the Fischer Theater at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday (October 5th). Tickets are $5 each, but if you make a purchase at participating downtown stores between September 30th and October 4th, a voucher will be given allowing you to get into the ‘Wizard of Oz’ for just 25-cents.
