The Kenneth D. Bailey Academy in Danville will honor three local veterans by placing them on the Academy’s ‘Wall of Honor’ next month.
The winning recipients are Frank Atwood, Fowler Connell and Frank McCullough. They were nominated to receive the award which recognizes those who not only served their country but have also demonstrated strong community values.
The late Frank Atwood was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He is a past Commander of American Legion Post 210 in Danville.
Fowler Connell returned home from his military service to become a highly respected sports reporter and broadcaster. He still enjoys doing sports broadcasts on WDAN Radio.
And Reverend Frank McCullough not only served our country, he has been active in the Danville community. He is one of the well known ‘The Kings of Peace’ – which has sought to keep the peace in Danville and also provide leadership advice to thousands of local teenagers.
