While basic tuition for Danville Area Community College students is staying put for the second year in a row, students will still be paying a bit more for classes.
The DACC Board of Trustees approved a $5 increase in its technology and activity fee Wednesday night. The fee will increase from $20 to $25 per credit hour. Tuition for in-district residents is still $140 per credit hour and out-of-district tuition is also staying the same.
DACC President Stephen Nacco said he considered another proposal of smaller increases in tuition and the activity fee, but said the plan trustees approved would be the best one from a financial standpoint.
The fee increase will go into effect beginning with the summer semester. Nacco said it is expected to bring in approximately $160,000 in additional revenue.
