A sure sign that spring is here is the Danville AMBUCS Home & Living Expo which takes place this weekend. Hours for the event at the David S. Palmer Arena are from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday (March 7th and 8th, 2020).
Admission for the public is free. Expo chairwoman Cindy Blacker says the exhibitors pay….
{‘’They pay booth rental fees and that money goes to AMBUCS and supports our projects,’’ said Blacker. ‘’It’s a great opportunity for the public to just come and check-out businesses. And this year it’s going to be home-based businesses, but it’s also going to be life-style businesses. So we’ve got direct sales companies, and we’ve got lots of organizations that are going to be fundraising themselves, and just lots of fun stuff to see,’’ added Blacker.}
Jenna Wirth is the president of the Danville AMBUCS. She says the club focuses on helping people with disabilities….
(Danville Firefighters man a ‘Safe House’ at the Expo, teaching those who stop by how to stay safe in the event of a fire at their home.)
{‘’We provide Amtrykes, which are customized bicycles, for little ones all the way up to Veterans – and everything in between. We even have special carriers for service dogs. We meet with therapists – occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists – and they’re the ones who fill out the forms and say this is what type of Amtryke this person is needing. We get them fitted and we raise the money to provide them an Amtryke for free.’’}
In addition to the vendors and their home products, the show also features small businesses, food vendors and free entertainment.
