Papa Roach bassist Tobin Esperance has confirmed that the band is working on both new music and a documentary celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of its breakthrough album, Infest.
Speaking with Spain's GoetiaMedia.com, Esperance revealed, “All of the footage that we've acquired over the past 20 years, we're hoping to put it into a documentary that's gonna come out soon. And all the while, we've been in the studio making new music and just kind of experimenting. We're looking forward to putting out new music, maybe some reinterpretations of old music and also a documentary. And we're just gonna keep touring and celebrating life and music.”
Papa Roach's second full-length record and first major label release, Infest peaked at Number Five on the Billboard 200 chart and has been certified triple platinum for sales of more than three million copies in the U.S. It yielded the massive hit “Last Resort.”
Singer Jacoby Shaddix told us a while back that he still marvels at how long Papa Roach has managed to stay on top: “We look back and we're like, it's a trip. We've been so many places, played so many concerts, written so many songs, met so many people, and had so many great times and so many absolutely insane times that it's like, we're still here, and we're still not jaded, which is baffling to me.”
Papa Roach is currently on tour in Europe and will return to the U.S. in a few weeks to open for Five Finger Death Punch next month.
