Students attending Danville Area Community College will see an extended Spring Break this month. The DACC Spring Break is being extended from Monday, March 16th through Friday, March 27th, 2020. The action is being taken to help mitigate the threat of the Coronavirus pandemic. Danville Area Community College is committed to the health and well-being of its faculty, staff and students said a statement issued by the college.
There will be no classes held at either the main campus in Danville or the Hoopeston Higher Learning Center March 16th through 20th. Faculty and staff will report as usual.
College Express students will remain at their high schools March 16th through 20th. And the regularly scheduled Spring Break will occur March 23rn – 27th.
At the end of the regularly scheduled Spring Break, Danville Area Community College officials will re-evaluate the Coronavirus pandemic situation. If conditions allow, classes will resume on Monday, March 30th.
If conditions warrant continued social distancing on March 30th, e-learning for lecture classes will commence. Any classes other than lectures – including labs, clinical, College Express, Fitness Center, and tutoring services will meet as regularly scheduled, regardless of the e-learning decision on March 30th.
DACC students who might not normally have an online class will have an opportunity to sharpen their e-learning skills through Blackboard tutoring sessions scheduled on campus the week of March 16th through 20th. Students should refer to the College’s Coronavirus webpage, www.dacc.edu/coronavirus for the full schedule. Updates to the response plan will be published on the Coronavirus webpage as they become available.
