Bring Me The Horizon has confirmed that work on the band's next full-length album has begun. Frontman Oli Sykes took to Instagram to reveal that the group had been working on its new record before the ongoing coronavirus pandemic put things on pause.
He added, “(Keyboardist) Jordan Fish and our videographer Brian Cox are traveling down to Sheffield to isolate with me, we are going to continue to write at home and even record some songs, we have everything we need to create the new record.”
Sykes told us a while back that the band's musical progression goes hand in hand with their personal growth: “It's got to be true to where we are at. If it's not true to what you are, it's not where you're at in life, it's gonna look transparent. I think that's why we've managed to carry on as a band, because we've always evolved and we've always made music that we still really, really love. It's not music that we used to love.”
Sykes explained, “We want to involve you in the whole process — so from tonight, we will be sending constant updates of our progress, doing live chats and streams with you guys . . . hopefully to bring a bit of joy & light to you guys in these dark times.”
Bring Me The Horizon issued its sixth full-length LP, Amo, in early 2019. It featured the Top 10 rock single “Medicine.” The group issued a surprise follow-up, an eight-song set called Music to listen to… in December of last year.
