OSF Healthcare hospitals in Danville and Urbana have implemented new visitor guidelines to help prevent the spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19). OSF Healthcare Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville and OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana are restricting visitors in all but special circumstances. Critically ill patients and those in labor and delivery will be able to have one visitor each.
The two hospitals have rescheduled all classes, support groups and events through the end of the month (March). Both facilities have eliminated truly elective procedures in alignment with Centers for Disease Control guidelines. Other procedures will be decided based on medical urgency.
If you suspect you have novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and it is not an emergency, do not go to a hospital or doctor’s office. Instead, use one of OSF’s digital care options. You can connect with chatbot Clare, a digital assistant, by clicking on ‘Start Coronavirus Screening’ on the OSF website, or text OSF COVID Companion, a free text messaging tool you can use to receive guidance. To sign up, text OSF to 67634 and follow the prompts. You may also call the COVID-19 Nurse Hotline, 24 hours a day – 7 days a week – at 833-OSF-KNOW (833-673-5669).
