Late singer Chester Bennington's pre-Linkin Park band Grey Daze has delayed the release of its album, Amends, from April 10th to June 26th in hopes of getting it out after the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic has passed.
Drummer Sean Dowdell said, “Amends means so much to (Chester's) family, our families and the millions of fans worldwide who embraced Chester that we feel we owe it to everyone involved to ensure that Amends receives a proper release.”
Fans will still be able to hear Amends on April 10th through a series of fan-hosted streaming parties across the globe. Details and times will be announced over the coming weeks.
Amends features newly recorded music with remastered vocals from the two long out-of-print LPs Grey Daze released independently. Dowdell told us that hearing Chester's vocals again was an emotional experience: “For the first four months, man, it was tough, because we took the music away so literally all we're listening to is his voice. It was tough. You know, there were a lot of tears shed in the studio and a lot of hugs between band members and it was rough. But then it started to become healing and then it started to become a mission about him, and we wanted to do right by our friend.”
Guests on the album include Chester's 23-year-old son Jaime Bennington, Korn's Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer plus Bush's Chris Traynor.
