Deftones were forced to cancel a spring tour of Australia and New Zealand due to the coronavirus pandemic, so the band is putting up the merch it produced for the tour up for sale. All profits will go to the group's road crew, who have been hit hard financially by the cancellations.
The band wrote, “Our touring crew is essential for us to go out and do what we do for all of you. We were crushed that we had to cancel our Australia and New Zealand run this month, and our road crew was hit hard. To show them support, we have made our intended merch line for the tour available for purchase online, and we will be giving all profits made back to our crew.”
The group added, “If you are able to buy a shirt, we, and they, really appreciate the support. We will see you all soon. Stay safe.”
Pending the direction of the current health crisis, Deftones still hope to tour North America later this year, beginning on July 27th in Portland, Oregon. The band is also slated to release a new album this year.
