The number of Vermilion County people confirmed to have the COVID-19 coronavirus disease rose to four this afternoon. Vermilion County Health Department Administrator Douglas Toole says both of the new cases involve people who are in their thirties. He says neither required hospitalization.
It is unknown whether the two new cases are related to the first two that were confirmed earlier.
Meanwhile, Vermilion County Board Chairman Larry Baughn has proclaimed the county a disaster area due to the confirmation of COVID-19 locally. Baughn says the designation will make additional resources available to ensure that the effects of COVID-19 are mitigated and minimized and that residents and visitors to the county remain safe and secure.
