A Danville teenager was reported in critical condition at a hospital this morning after being shot Sunday night (April 5, 2020).
Danville Police Commander Joshua Webb says police responded to the area of the 800 block of Franklin Street on a report of shots fired around 8:00 p.m. After arriving there officers were told a victim had arrived at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police learned the victim is an 18-year-old male from Danville. The initial investigation determined there was a party at a residence in the 800 block of Franklin Street. The victim was reportedly standing outside that residence when he was shot.
Commander Webb adds no other injuries were reported, and no suspect information was immediately available. The investigation into the shooting continues.
