The Illinois Department of Public Health reports nearly 1,300 new cases of COVID-19 in the state in the past 24 hours with an additional 73 deaths. The new 1,287 cases brings the state total to 13,549 including 380 deaths. One person each in Champaign, Christian, Ford and Tazewell counties, all in their 80s, are included in the latest deaths.
Governor Pritzker said the state’s hospitals have about 43 percent of their beds available, 35 percent of their intensive care beds available and 57 percent, or nearly 1,600, of the current supply of ventilators available. In the Springfield area, about half of the 104 ICU beds are available.
