The Danville District 118 School Board is considering making changes in the residency requirements for administrators. A proposal to be considered by the board Wednesday evening would delete some of the requirements which are currently in place. It is being considered to help with recruiting efforts.
If the changes are approved, school administrators – other than the Superintendent – would no longer be required to live within the boundaries of District 118, or no more than 10 miles from those boundaries. Administrators – other than the superintendent — would no longer be required to show proof of residency. Currently any administrator who does not comply within the time period for residency requirements is subject to dismissal from their administrative position.
Danville School Superintendent Alicia Geddis concurs with the recommended changes.
