Champaign County has recorded its first death from the COVID-19 virus. A report released Monday afternoon said the victim is a man in his 80s who had underlying health conditions. In addition there were 7 new cases of the disease confirmed in Champaign County since Sunday, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 63.
The number of cases confirmed in Vermilion County remains at five. All had been reported earlier.
And in Indiana a total of 4,944 positive cases of the COVID-19 virus have been diagnosed since the process began to track the numbers. Indiana has also had 139 deaths.
A total of Twenty-five cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus have been confirmed in Vigo County (Indiana), with two deaths in that county. It is the Terre Haute area.
Fountain, Warren and Vermillion Counties in Indiana have each had two positive cases of the disease. And one death was recorded earlier in both Fountain and Warren Counties.
Five positive cases of the disease have been diagnosed in Parke County.
