The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for our area…effective until 7 o’clock this evening (Monday, April 13th, 2020).
Northwest winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour will be accompanied by gusts up to 50 miles per hour. The advisory applies to portions of central, east central, southeast and west central Illinois.
In west-central Indiana the National Weather Service at Indianapolis has posted a Wind Advisory effective from 5:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. EDT Monday.
The strongest winds are expected during the early morning hours today. West winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour with frequent gusts of 45 to 50 miles per hour are expected across west central Indiana.
Throughout our region the strong winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. And travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution while driving and make sure you secure any outdoor objects that you do not want to blow around.
