A new effort is underway in Vermilion County to help feed the workers who are on the frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic. A Go Fund Me Page is now active at Vermilioncountyfirst.com/feed-the-frontline/
Michelle Campbell, General Manager of the Neuhoff Media radio stations in Danville (WDNL, WDAN and WRHK) says the goal is to raise $20,000. The money will be spent on buying food gift cards from Vermilion County businesses, and the cards will be distributed to Health Care Workers, First Responders, and Grocery Store Workers in the county.
‘’Your donation will not only help feed our frontline workers, it will also be supporting local businesses,’’ said Campbell. All of the money raised will stay in Vermilion County to go toward ‘Feeding the Frontline’.
One of the sponsors of the program, Joe Vincent at Rawhide Meats, donated $1,000 in gift certificates to kick-off the fundraising. Other local sponsors are Classic Homes Realty, Culvers, and Shore Wealth Management.
‘’Our goal is $20,000. We need 4,000 people to donate $5 or more to hit our goal, that’s pretty reasonable,’’ said Campbell. ‘’Due to COVID-19, frontline workers are putting in long hours to ensure our safety during uncertain times. Those frontline workers: the grocery store workers, first responders, and healthcare workers are putting themselves on the line each and every day.’’
